Good effort on the 130kg for 10 deadlifts buddy, high rep deadlifts are a killer. You'd better not get too good though, i want to have a chance of beating you at one of the events, cause you're gonna destroy me on the stones! Grin

well started my 531 program today and i must say its a lot of fookin around for jus 3 workin sets but on the whole was a v.good session

push press 531

reps weight
5 x 65% 47.5
5 x 75% 55
5+ x 85% 62.5 +1+f

log 52kg

3x6

viking press 15kg on the plates but who knows...

3x10

lateral raises

3x10

upright rows

3x10

high pulls

40kg x 10

70kg x 10 x 2

70kg x 10 - shrugs

then joni caught me doing sit ups... suspersetted with hypers and holds Roll-Eyes for core strength purposes only...

on the whole a good session glad to be back into it although helishly sore from sunday!!!

another good session today... in a bit of a rush this morning and felt well s**tty! could be swine flu....Confused my back is toasted from the high pulls yesterday and sundays session!! well thats my excuses over and done with

on the agenda is squatting and not done much of this apart from when i tested my power breifs out...

reps weight
5 x 65% 80
5 x 75% 90
5+ x 85% 102.5 + 2 = PB well never tried to do more than 5 so....

im actually liking this 5/3/1 its quite demanding (could be cos i f**ked the thing up haha)

moved on to front squats

4 x 5 x 60kg easy!!! i got to push my self on this i can do 7 on 80kg Unhappy

moved onto leg press

10 x 90kg
10 x 130kg
10 x 170kg all piss easy....need to start pushin my self!

thats all folks.... on the whole i think i need a kick up the arse!!!

first 5/3/1 deadlift day today and i must say went quite well

5x100kg
5x120kg
8x140kg PB

then i thought id have a go at some farmers deadlift and got some intense pain in the middle of my back had a look at some anatomy charts and it feels like its my rhomboids jus behind my traps so i plan on going seein my sports therapist during the week and try n sort that out

the worry is im entering the fun day comp which has a farmers deadlift Unhappy at first i thought it could be the height as its 18" but i managed a 180kg 18" dead shortly after with only minimal pain so i think its due to being at the side i think ?!?!?

1x140kg
1x180kg &rt; muchos painos = old pb with straps

moved on to rack deads 18"

5x60kg &rt; straps
5x100kg &rt; straps
5x120kg &rt; no straps
1x140kg &rt; no straps
1x160kg &rt; you get the point
1x180kg &rt; some crumpling crap core!! and a little bit of pain

moved outside and did 2 flips of the tyre and 10 chins...

it could be that you let the upper back round more on the farmers deadlift?

You have plenty of time to strenghten those areas, if there is nothing seriously wrong there.

Good job on the deadlifting mate, hope your upper back is fine (i sometimes get some niggles in that area, but usually find it eases within a few days).

i think that could be the issue joni!

it doesnt hurt all the time just when i lift then it goes away...but also if i take a deep breath it hurts slightly, which is kinda helpin me pin point what it is Roll-Eyes but got 9 weeks to sort it Grin
